Essentail oils are plant extracts that are dervied by three process: steam distillation, resin tapping and cold pressing. The oil obtained from leaves, seeds, bark, skin of plants contains therapeutic properties that when diffused can have an amazing effect.

When I first received my Essential Oils I used a few drops in my diffuser. The diffuser uses ultrasonic technology to break down the oil with water into millions of microparticles and disperses them into the air. Diffusing essential oils is a perfect way to dispel odours and create a peaceful environment. Before I had a diffuser I had used some essential oils in an oil burner but I have since learnt that a cold air diffuser preserves their therapeutic properties. Rosemary has been shown to improve memory and peppermint enhances mood and cognition( always use only 1-2 drops peppermint as it is strong). Lavendar supports nervousness, insomnia,helps to wind down and so many much more! Aide from it’s beautiful refreshing scent Lemon can enhance mood and concentration and was demonstrated in this study

Rosemary and lemon are perfect in the workplace for supporting concentration or for the studying student. Lavendar is perfect at bedtime.

Aside from the  support to mood, concentration and your emotions, Thieves essential oil has been studied for it’s effectiveness killing mould. Dr Close has used Thieves Essential oil, diffused for 48 hrs to kill mould spores. Watch a clip of Dr Close explain his findings.

As thieves is great at cleaning the air, it is perfect to diffuse for 30mins daily when you are suffering from a cough or cold.
